Growth scan checks that your baby is growing as expected. We measure head diameter, abdominal diameter, and femur length, estimate fetal weight, and plot it on a growth curve. If there are concerns, we check blood flow with doppler.

What we measure
Biometry
Head measurement (BPD), abdominal measurement (MAD), and femur length (FL). From these we calculate fetal weight.
Doppler
Blood flow measurement. Shows the function of the placenta. Performed when growth measurements show concerns.
When to book a growth scan
From week 24. Common reasons: concerns about growth, twins, diabetes, previous growth restriction, reduced fetal movement, or wanting extra reassurance late in pregnancy.
